This is a small week for comics and special orders. However, All Star Batman & Robin #2 is coming out. Comic fans everywhere have a chance to decide which Robin victimization cover to choose from. I think most will choose the F. Miller fluid splattered Robin. I don't make this stuff up. If I had time I would scan the covers, but alas.........there's funny books to be workin' on.

One week into September and my family is in recovery. NO! not from comic goodness.....from blasted COLDS!

Big news from the DC front. Wonder Woman #220 (WW in handcuffs on cover issue) is going to 2nd printing. It should be available in about 3 weeks. There is no official cover art yet, but by the time you read this, there probably will be.

Big news from the Marvel front. A few of their titles are still readable.

After reflecting on the torture system known as the monthly order form, I remembered several observations. I ordered Waaaay more total copies of DC books than I did Marvel. Now I know that Infinite Crisis #1 and Justice #2 had a lot to do with this, but just 2 to 3 years ago the tables were totally turned.
I could not order near enough DCs to keep up with the demand of Marvel's Ultimate titles and X-men projects.

Which brings me to this. The Ultimate title sales are really starting to surprise/worry me. The quality on all of these titles is still top notch. Stories and characters are still strong, so it can't be that sales are slipping because of quality. It looks like they are suffering because of one of two possible factors.

1. Wait for the Trade mentality. I think this is possible, however my sales on higher volume numbered Ultimate Trades has also gone down, so the numbers don't support this theory.

2. "I'm buying so many DC's, I just had to cut back my Marvels". I'm not even going into why this is a problem, but believe it or not, it is a big PROBLEM!

Have you stopped buying individual Ultimate titles? If so, why?

This just in.........Jeph Loeb and Joe Mad confirmed on Ultimates vol 3.
Now it will take 3 years for 9 issues to be released and then it will end
abruptly, without conclusion so Mad can start and fold another game development company. 1st sentence confirmed by Marvel, 2nd sentence confirmed by me.

All online order forms are due today. That means all the product coming
out in October must be ordered NOW! That is a long time away to predict
what the the funny book faithful will want to buy. That's why preorders
reign supreme. Enough about that though...... Some of the bigger projects
that may be overlooked that I can find are some of the lesser title DC
and Marvel items. Since Infinite Crisis #1 and Justice #2 are supposed to
come out in October, now is the time to considers some of these potential
sleepers.

Friendly Neigborhood Spider-man #1 and all associated Spider-man titles.
-This is described as a big Spider-man crossover event. We are back
in the age of the crossover, so why not see what kind of 'Maximum Carnage
clone in the city and one of my past loves might die' story Spidey has
to tell.

Howling Commandos #1
-War comics.......War.........some might be into this.

Shazam/Superman: First Thunder #2
- This is a personal Favorite of mine. I wonder if it is going to get
lost in the "this is not an Infinite Crisis book" shuffle. This is going
to be a well written and Gorgeous looking title about the 1st meeting
between Shazzy and Supey. Only 4 issues long and the first
issue should be out in about 2 weeks.

There will be tons of Infinite Crisis tie - ins for October which makes me wonder whether the crossover part of the equation has worn off. Is everyone
still excited that Blood of the Demon and Manhunter have ties to Villains United and Day of Vengeance, or are we just going to stick to the main titles from here on out? I'd like to hear from some of you, but I know you will be silent until the internet tells you it's sold out. OH that blasted internet!!!! Why do you mock me?

Well, I'm back for those who care. I just wanted to point out that comics list due out this week is HUGE! I haven't seen a list this size in a while. There are some big name titles on that list too like:

New Avengers
Young Avengers
Wonder Woman?

That's right. I said Wonder Woman. By the way, It's already sold out. If you did not already preorder it, it's gone.......bye bye.......etc... How can this happen you ask? Well like it or not, the comics industry is in a constant state of transition and change. What was popular 6 months ago will not be popular 2 months ago and then be popular for one week only 2 months from now. Get it? Neither do I. However, I have a solution for you. If you are bothering to read this, then I would bet one of two things. You are really into comics and your awesome local comic store *wink* -OR- You really need to stop stalking me! Anyway, let me take those of you who are really into comics aside for one second....come on................over here so the others can't hear us. We alone? Alright now. I have to challenge your comics dedication for one moment. I'm sorry, but it has to be done. How on earth can you call yourself a comics fan and still not know about big events until the week before they are supposed to hit the shelves. If you are relying on DC.com and Marvel.com to tell when something is coming out, then let's face it, your mother never loved you. Well, if she really loved you she would have taught you about Previews. It's like sex education in the public school system. I can't teach you everything that should have been taught in the home people. Previews is the catalog I order from, and if that hasn't changed your interest, you can just as easily order from it too. *through me or another fine retailer of course* See, the comics industry is so small in comparison to other forms of entertainment, that the publishers actually have a tool to sell directly to the readers via small stores and outlets known as the Direct Market. I'm getting tired of typing. Get Previews from us every month for only $2.95 (listed price is $4.50). I'm so dedicated to your comic needs, I'm willing to rip that T-bone steak from my child's mouth and replace it with Spam...(*disclaimer* no replacing of any meat product or otherwise actually occurred. My children are well fed, thankyou very much.)
Now go! Stop stalking me! Don't you have some comics to read? Cuz if not, I've got a bunch to sell you.

Bye fer now,

For those of you who might care, here is a picture of my two little ones. They are quite the dynamic duo and will take over the world one of these days. It's a good idea to notice how cute they are now before they become your masters.

Justine is on the left and Archer is on the right.
